Assasins Creed - Mission Icons Disappeared in HUD

I am playing assasins creed on PS3 and i am on memory 4 and after meeting the bureau leader in damascus or acre or jerusalem and scaling all the viewpoints i just cant find any mission icons. Its just not showing up for me. Without this I am going nowhere in my game.
I have climbed all the viewpoints and did all save a citizen missions and still couldnt see the mission or assasination icon in my HUD of assasins creed. i tried going to all three cities and back to masyaf as well. I am stuck!
Solution
I finally figured out what the problem was. If you are in the damascus, you have to climb the viewpoints in the Rich district. Once you do that you will be able to unlock the missions. The map is divided into 3 districts - Poor, Middle and Rich districts. Look for viewpoints where eagles are circling.

i heard this issue in many forums and people were suggesting that you have to investigate the view points where the eagles are circling. Those viewpoints may be not be visible always in the HUD. Give a try!
