If you are thinking of buying diesel car in India, then be prepared to have 4 lacs+ to buy it.
i have been searching for a best low cost diesel car as my budget was way under 4 lacs. Although many say that Indica V2 is the best car, swift also very good competitor. The pricing of
Tata Indica V2 (starting at 3.7 lacs)
Maruti SWIFT (4.2 lacs plus)
and of course they are all ex-showroom prices. To get the on-road price add about 40′000 to the exshowroom price. I believe the low priced diesel car is Tata Indica V2, still it would push the final on road price to 4lac.

of course i agree that the prices would vary but not much. check out the car manufacturers website and there they have prices sorted per city and states in India.
