Undersea Cable Breakdown – Internet slows down in India/Asia/MiddleEast
Since Dec 20, many parts of india, asia and middleeast countries experience a dramatic slowdown of internet and blackouts because of of the undersea cable breakdown. Users are unable to access many important websites such as paypal and other sites from north america because of traffic re-routing.
I remember same kind of incident happening last where cables are torn off by a ship dropping anchor and cutting the cables.
The real impact of this incident is much felt today (monday) where more users are on work and online.
If you are having problems accessing a website or slow loading of websites here is an alternative to access them.
Solution:
Use Alternative DNS service than that of provided by your ISP. Use either DNS IP addresses of OpenDNS or TreewalkDNS
. Both are very good.
I was able to access many sites with TreeWalkDNS without any problem.
