I have been quite often asked about which port is good to access internet at high speed? Most people would often prefer connect their modem to either USB or Network port to achieve high speeds of internet surfing.
Well actually, the fact is the connection speed of
USB Port – 12 mbps
Network Port – 100 mbps
Wi-FI Access – 54 mbps
while the internet speed is usually connects about 512kbps or 1MBPS (DSL line). Since 512 kbps or 1 mbps is no match to 12 or 100 or 54 mbps, you wont often notice significant slowdown in all the above ports. Having said that, if you connect using network port, it will significantly improve the speed of internet, especially downloads.
I have often noticed that downloads and loading of youtube videos are way faster in network port than compared to other wi-fi or usb ports. I would definitely recommend setting up of modem using network port.
