I have often got frustrated with this very annoying problem of gmail with firefox 3. Once i login to gmail and once the interface shows it refreshes again and does a double loading, just as when i open the unread mail.

Linux as such has no direct rename command for renaming one file name to other. The other way around and the most commonly used trick is to use a move file command to rename one file to another.

mv oldfile newfile
mv /usr/file.txt /usr/local/file.inc
