WordPress similar posts plugin not working?

I have been struggling to make this plugin working ever since i have upgraded to wordpress 2.9 version. No matter how many times i changed the setting, everytime i get this nasty message

“Posts None found”

no matter what.  I did place the similar_posts() code in the single.php page.

I have heard that the reason could be the problem with index and solution is to re-create the index from the admin settings menu. I installed the plugin and tried to re-create the index and nah! it didnt work for me.

Finally, i was able to fix the problem.

IMPORTANT! If you are upgrading from a previous version first deactivate the plugin, then delete the plugin folder from your server.

The similar posts plugin finally started showing all similar posts after i did the following..

  1. Deactivated similiar post plugin and postplugin library
  2. Deleted all similar post files and postplugin files in plugins folder.
  3. Re-installed all files and then activated it.

Bingo! It WORKED!

If you run into trouble with similar posts plugin, you should be able to fix the problem easily.
