It seems almost impossible to believe that major teams from europe like England, Italy, Spain, France really struggled for goals with `Jabulani` ball in this Worldcup 2010. What seems to be more intriguing is even the best players arent able to score the easiest of goals and there has been a number of missed chances.
I have often observed in matches that the new ball has high bounce, wobbles more in air and seems to be bit hard as well (players get winded if struck by ball).
- The goalkeepers were just unable to catch hold of ball and spill.
- Long shots and free kicks attempted by players to goal goes nowhere.
- Header goals goes way out of target.
The high bounce explains why the goals are hard to comeby and there are more and more players are increasingly finding it difficult to control the ball including headers. The only exception are teams from south america – Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay really done well and found no problems whatsoever.
Afterall its just a matter of players get used to the ball by practising a lot. Thats what is all about winning the Worldcup!
