I have been a complete NOOB when comes to building a home and eventhough i come from a computer background bits and bytes, i absolutely knew nothing about land measurements, lengths and all kind of stuff related to home and land piece, and i have to admit that i struggled a lot to understand very recently.
You can be a person of any background but having a home is so foremost important and surely at one point of time in your life you will need to either build a new home or buy one.
I am sure there are many many people out there who are so naive and dont know anything about math stuff involved. Here is what you need to know and this is your first step to learn about the basics. Just byheart the approx measurements below.
Any home needs a land and usually very frequently the measurement of land or building plan is expressed in cents (or centiaire). So with just 3 cents of land you can build quite a 1000 sq.ft home – should be sufficient for a small family
1 Cent = 435.6 sq.ft (approx 436)
1 ft = 30.48 centimetres (approx 30)
1 metre = 3.28 feet (approx 3.3)
100 Cents = 1 Acre
The first line from cent to sqft is so important and you should never forget the value.

It is very easy to draw a home plan yourself and you can use the following websites to draw a house floor plan free online. These are the best i have seen and you can simulate the home in 3D mode.
