Everyone would like to go for movies on weekends. If you are an expat in Budapest, interested to watch english language movies, the good news is, there are lot of theatres which screen english movies, with or without hungarian subtitles.
All cinemacity theatres in shopping malls, shown english movies, but not all the time and usually hungarian dubbings. Here are the list of theatres, you might want to go.
Important: Mom Park cinema city, is the only theatre screening original latest english movies. The only disadvantage is it is little bit outside the main city centre, on the Buda side.
- Cinemacity – Mom Park shopping mall (Go to deli, take tram 61 with 3 stops)
- Cinemacity – Westend city mall (near nyugati station)
- Cinemacity – Árkád ( near ors vezer metro)
- Cinema city – Arena mall (backside keleti railway station, walk about 500 m)
- Corvin cinema (corvin negyed metro)
- Cinema city – Mammut (szell kalman ter on buda side)
If you go to any one shopping mall, grab PESTI or EXIT magazine and you will find a nice list of where the movies showed and which threatres. You want to look for OV (original version) and F (english with hungarian subtitles) listed in the table, meaning that it is in english. Accordingly pick the nearest cinema city for the movie.
