The rapid explosion of new technologies (mobile, computers, tablets and social media) also has dark side to it, infact no one really talks about these things.
Let understand that addictions, anxiety and stress are byproducts of new technologies such as Social media and handheld electronic devices.
These technologies slowly start to kill ‘human’ things in us, making us robots in every way.
First lets get to the core problem.
Constantly using these devices creates more anxiety, addiction, sleep deprivation and high amount stress without you even knowing it. Worse, it exposes your privacy preventing you to live a private peaceful life. For example facebook.
The Covid lockdowns only made this worse, with most people working from home leaving people to high amount of stress, anxiety and sleep disorders.
Twenty years ago it was a different world then. Some things are better off working slow. For example you expect an instant whatsapp or facebook response. It can wait for a day or so, so that everybody relaxes a bit.
Googling everything destroys your mind’s ability to think and reason. It also prevents everyday human to human interactions. For example when you are lost it is normal to ask somebody for directions. These days you use google maps with gps to navigate. Yes technology makes it easier but it also decouples human-2-human interactions.
Using calculators will erode your mind’s ability to calculate faster mentally. We cant even do a simple multiplication and addition. It is even worse with children.
Human relationships gets worse because of new online dating technologies. Chatting, texting dont work when it comes to relationships. Problems get worse messaging. You are better off 1000 times when meeting in person face to face.
Instead of going out and spending quality time in restaurants for dating or meeting friends or whatever, the food delivery apps makes totally confined to home, making things worse.
Dont watch too much TV. the more you watch or listen to news you get more frustrated.
Addiction is another huge problem. It is simply impossible to live without these devices or social media for a minute. These companies make you slaves with a zombie life.
These new technologies, only decouples you living along with nature. It is very important to learn to live with nature disbanding urban life.
Learn to live with nature. Take your time off! Get out of your homes, enjoy nature, listen to music, exercise, play sports, spend more time with your family, learn cooking and chill yourself. These solutions can help you overcome addictions and anxiety issues.
Yes, Technologies help us to move forward in life, but erodes the ‘humane’ things we have.
