Today i will talk a bit about manual version of Renault kiger (Rxz) and some issues associated with this. Be sure to test this before you buy this car.
- No Hill start assist – Many dont know this car does not offer this feature. So no hill assist and because of the weight of the suv, you will notice a lot of roll (front and back) in slopes. Even in flat surface you can expect rolling of the car (be cautious)
- Noise levels – Revving the engine more than 4000 rpm you will notice noise in the cabin. Be sure to maintain below 3000 rpm for smooth running of the car
- Suspension – On the stiff side might be hard and jumpy if you drive through rough roads or potholes/
- Mileage – Expect only 10kmpl in the city and about 16kmpl in the highways. Will improve after the first service.
- Engine – It is only compact 1L engine capable of producing 100bhp and 162nm of torque. Still ok but. There are three modes (eco, normal and sport) can be sometimes confusing.
- AC – Air conditioning is also a problem (consumes lot of engine power even in eco mode)
- Blind spot – If you set seating position high and front, there is a problem with the C pillar blind spot (on your right). Difficulty with obstruction
- Brakes / Accelerator – Both of these are set too close, often your foot might touch the acceleration when breaking, another problem.
- IRVM – This mirror does not come with auto dimming (manual only) and other issue it is small and half the size.
- Brakes – The brakes are not soft you will feel bit hard (will get better).
- Blind spot – You will see a C blind spot because the huge mirror will obstruct your view when you make right turns. Adjust your seat position to make yourself comfortable.
- Horns – To honk you need to press hard, another issue
- Wireless charger – To use wireless charger your phone must be compatible with wireless charging else it will not work (apple/android)
Other than these issues, it is a super car with tons of features, dont let these small problems discourage you. With the updated 2022 model, the mud issue has been fixed.
