Dominica economic citizenship is the cheapest in the world for $100,000, which is almost half the price, compared to other investment citizenship programs running in other Caribbean nations such as, St Kitts , Antigua , Grenada and St Lucia for the same passport benefits. The minimum real estate investment in Dominica stands at $220,000, which is half compared to other countries – St Kitts and Antigua ($400,000).

On July 28, 2016, Prime minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, announced that current pricing of citizenship program will remain unchanged stays at $100,000, despite rumors that that prices will hiked by $75,000 as of August 2016.

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica first introduced the Citizenship by Investment Programme in 1993 making it one of the longest running citizenship by investment programmes in the world. The funds  raised by the Economic Citizenship program in Dominica, contributed significantly to the economic and social development in the country.

Dominica Prime Minister  Roosevelt Skerrit, during his speech also said, “The economic citizenship program has raised more than US$200 million, surpassing all expectations. The funds raised from the program have been a major source of funding in the recovery efforts after tropical storm Erika”, according to Caribbean News Now.  Last year, during Aug 2015, tropical storm Erika wiped out 90% of Dominica’s GDP.

Dominica is currently witnessing boom in real estate development. The real estate prices are way cheaper in dominica compared to Antigua, St Kitts, Grenada where it is much more expensive. The Government has approved two big projects, Cabrits Resort Kempinski and Hilton. Dominica CBIU website also lists Tranquility beach and Silver beach resort and spa are approved real estate projects that will qualify for citizenship. The construction is underway for Cabrits Resort Kempinski luxury hotel at Douglas bay, which is expected to be completed by late 2018 with 100 luxury suite rooms. Investors can buy a piece of share at Kempinski hotel for $225,000 and qualify for citizenship in Dominica.
