BSNL Dataone – Common Error Messages & Code Numbers

If you are having BSNL Dataone internet connection at home, probably you would encounter different connectivity problems and error codes.

Here are the most common error codes associated with Dataone which might help you to resolve the problem.

Error 678:

Line/ Physical Fault (ADSL link unavailable) or poor connectivity.

Error 769:

LAN card disabled

Try to enable the LAN card and install driver.

Error 797

Problem with DSL Modem or LAN driver.

Error 718

High load and peak hour error.
Try after some time. Try to reset the modem and re-install network card drivers.

Error 734

PPP dial-up connection Protocol was terminated.

Error 629

Port was disconnected by remote machine.

To fix this problem, restart your computer and the modem.

Error 630/631/632/633

Problem with LAN/Network card on the PC

Error 691:

Unable to verify username and password.

You will often see “Access denied : username/password is invalid on the domain“. Enter the correct password.

If you believe that password is right but having the same problem, try again after sometime. If you are getting this error all the time, try resetting the password by logging in to dataone.in or call the bsnl call centre.

Connecting to WAN Mini Port:

This means LAN card problem or ADSL link is down.
To fix disable the LAN connection and enable it. Try to create a new dialer.

Websites not Opening:

If you are unable to open site then chances are DNS server is down. Try pinging the website site. E.g. ping www.google.com.

Go to start > Run > type command > ping google.com

If you are able to reach websites with ping but not with browser, there could be a virus in your PC preventing you to access websites. Try to clean all temporary cache, re-install firefox and create a new dialer connection.

if you are unable to ping an ip address, chances are that DNS is down in your local network. Try using DNS IPs of OpenDNS. It is free.

To setup alternate DNS servers, go to Network > Connection > and set custom dns ips like shown below.
