Length of cable from ADSL splitter to modem effects speed!

Technicians from ISPs usually say that the maximum length of cable between your ADSL splitter and modem should be no more than 2-3 metres and anything more than that may compromise the internet speed. This is what i realized with my internet connection.

i recently used to keep the phone nearby ADSL splitter and connected a  lengthy cable about 15 metres  from my ADSL splitter to modem and soon realized that it compromised my internet connectivity speed, plus lot of noise added to the telephone line. i quickly disconnected the phone and placed the splitter nearby my mode and reduced the cable length to 2 metres and the speed rocketed with my internet connection.

Dont forget that to achieve maximum internet speeds your ADSL splitter should be nearby your modem and the cable length should be no more than 3 metres.
